Always check you are wiring it in correctly. The purplewhite wire is connected the backup camera interruption is on but yet the backup camera doesnt pop up when I put it in reverse. Always check you are wiring it in correctly. Dont know your vehicle but when the rear view camera is on in my car the radio audio is turned off obviously not the radio unit so assume it is the same with your car.
